Samuelu (Sam) Sefuiva
Sam has an extensive background in the not-for-profit and community
sector. He has experience in youth, recreation planning and
community development as well as strategic planning, with a
particular focus on Pasifika communities' development both
nationally and internationally.
Since 1990 Sam has been a principal partner in a strategic
management and training consultancy in which he has been involved
in strategic communications and the start-up of new initiatives
in Pasifika led NGO/community enterprise initiatives in:
- Recreation;
- Leadership development;
- Older peoples;
- Drug and Alcohol Prevention;
- Education - trade/early childhood/sport/arts/tertiary -
health promotion;
- children's advocacy;
- public policy;
- land transport safety;
- health; and
- housing research.
Sam has recently retired as a director of the Pacific Business
Trust and continues as a member of the Pacific Development and
Conservation Trust.
Recently Sam joined the NZ Human Rights Commission as acting
Manager Race and Ethnic Relations.
